Response to allegation 4/5/2022 – Request for information

Vermtek has been made aware of the distressing video and images that appears to be taken at one of our sites last week where a subcontractor was carrying out bird proofing.

We are carrying out a full and thorough investigation. Once facts are established, we will take the appropriate actions.

Vermtek has been built on the principles of ethical and sustainable practices. Vermtek does not endorse the abuse shown in the images and footage in any way shape or form.

We recognise that allegations like this are upsetting for all involved and are appealing to anyone who has substantiated information or evidence to send to legal@vermtek.com.

We ask that we are given the time and opportunity to carry out the investigation, review any evidence and fully establish facts.  We will provide the results of our investigation upon its conclusion.

  1. During May this year Vermtek was made aware of videos and images that appears to be taken at one of our sites, where a subcontractor was carrying out bird proofing. Vermtek took such allegations of wrong doing seriously and carried out investigations into the matter. Evidence was collected including photographs/videos which were provided by complainants and our sub-contractor. The conclusion of both an independent report and our internal investigation evidenced that Vermtek had carried out works in accordance with our survey and proposal with the client. Vermtek also adhered to both Health and Safety regulations and all relevant legislation which dictates bird control methods.

Vermtek has been built on the principles of ethical and sustainable practices, and our supply chain, including subcontractors, sign up to these standards. We are glad to confirm that this is indeed the case in this instance. However, the complaint has left an impact on our staff who have been subject to social media abuse and have been threatened and targeted personally. We are now addressing this issue internally and have offered help to all involved.

This has been a difficult time for us all but are happy to see that the principals we have, and procedures we have put in place for these types of essential works, have been adhered to.
